Faithful

Great is thy faithfulness, O God My Father there is no shadow of turning with thee. Thou changest no, they compassions, they fail not. As thou hast been thou forever wilt be. Great is thy faithfulness, great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have need thy hand hath provided. Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me.

God’s gift to me, as we’ve navigated through uncertainty and inescapable confusion due to COVID-19, has been a welcome mat to enter into His presence; an invitation to affirm His faithfulness through speaking His own words back to Him. His Word is the truest thing we know.

Whether I’m washing dishes, teaching language arts at home, or applying another layer of hand sanitizer after grocery shopping, I weave the holy Scriptures into my prayers as I pour out my heart before the Lord. Personalizing the Word of God can be so powerful and can create an even more personal interaction with our heavenly Father.

Here’s an example:

Prayer Letter

The act of revisiting and remembering God’s own words and recognizing His care and presence in my life have greatly impacted me over these last months. My husband and I are growing in our ability to remind each other of God's promises—especially in the mundane and repetitive routines of our new normal.

When I’m tired of staying in and around the house, when my girls wonder when they can see their friends again, I’m so blessed to have this Truth to turn to: God is always for us and ever-present with us.

What Scriptures can you find to speak back to God and affirm His faithfulness in your life? Accept His invitation today to enter into His presence.
