It’s something that happens in about one in a million births. And it happened at Lexington Medical Center on January 3, 2022. Ellie Min and her husband Eric Jung of Chapin welcomed identical triplet daughters. Statistics show that only four sets of identical triplets are born in the United States each year.

As parents, we quickly realize the huge responsibility bestowed on us. One of the most important gifts we can offer our children, besides the love of Jesus, is to teach and model good health practices. Providing a safe, stable environment for our children also includes serving them the best foods possible to nourish the growth of their bodies and minds.

My name is Carey, and I’m a former addict.

It’s only by God’s grace that I’m even able to write this article. As I write, I am into my eighth month of victory over a 10-year drug addiction. An addiction that consumed every aspect of my life. At any given moment, I could have ended my life. It all started with marijuana use and quickly progressed into an opioid habit.

IN 2004, in the state of Georgia, a 16-year-old girl ran away from home. Finding herself pregnant and on the streets, she knew her parents would not want another child to care for. 

The sweet, clean scent of Ivory soap takes me back to thoughts of Mama and those warm summer evenings. At ages six and four, Wanda and I seldom wore shoes. Living out in the country, we loved to run in our bare feet all day long. At bedtime, Mama was insistent that we went to bed with clean feet.

Make the effort. Wake them up early. Fool with the belts and the buckles and the fancy hair bows. Endure the sleepy, grumpy faces and the misplaced shoes. Run around like a mad woman gathering everybody’s everything, whatever it takes to get out the door on time.

If Children are the hope of the future, then parents are their hope for the present. It’s time for this present generation of parents to assume their sacred position—to fight against and protect their children from the lies of the evil one and instill in them the Truth of the Holy One.
